Srinagar, Apr 01 (KNO): The lockdown across Jammu and Kashmir continued for the 14ths straight day on Wednesday in wake of the deadly Coronavirus spread with authorities acting tough against the violators of government orders issued under section 144 CrPc. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the restrictions under section 144 CrPc has been imposed across the Union Territory to prevent the deadly virus from spreading. Witnesses said that police and paramilitary troopers were deployed on roads throughout the day who had also erected concertina wire on the roads, thus thwarting the vehicular and pedestrians’ movement. Moreover, officials said that many persons who were found violating government’s prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPc. In Awantipora, Police arrested seven persons who where offering prayers in Masjid Padgampora Awantipora, despite clear orders of District Magistrate and various announcement made by Awantipora police for offering prayers at home only. “It was found that seven persons have assembled at Padgampora Masjid for prayers. No sooner bay came out of Masjid Sharif they were arrested and taken to Police Station for legal action,” officials told—KNO, adding that a case under FIR number 40/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora. In South Kashmir’s Kund Police Station, at least 15 persons were arrested for violating government orders, officials said that a case under FIR number 08/2020 under section 188, 269 IPC has been registered in this regard. Police Station Devsar, three persons were arrested, officials said, adding that a case under FIR number 27/2020 under section 188, 269 has been registered. Police Station Kulgam, one person was arrested for violating the government orders, officials said, adding that a case under FIR number 47/2020 under section 188, 269 IPC stands registered in PS. In Handwara, Police arrested 28 persons for violating the government orders and sealed six shops in the jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara, Vilgam and Kralgund after they were found open despite the lockdown and restrictions called by the government. In the jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara, a case under FIR No. 98/2020 under section 188 IPC has been registered against seven persons who were found violating the orders imposed by District Magistrate. Police said that in the jurisdiction of Vilgam Police Station, 15 persons were arrested in a case under FIR number 20/2020 under section 188 IPC for violating the prohibitory orders over Coronovirus. Similarly, in jurisdiction of Police Station Kralgund, Police along with Magistrate sealed six shops and arrested the shopkeepers for violation the prohibitory orders, officials said, adding that a case under FIR number 20/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kralgund. Meanwhile, in Rajouri district, police booked a shopkeeper after he was found violating the government orders, officials said, adding that a case under FIR 48/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in this regard. Similarly, a tipper bearing registration number JK11-8335 was found plying on road in Kallar area after which its driver Sanjay Kumar, son of Jia Lal of Bathuni was booked while his vehicle was seized by police team headed by Incharge Police Post Chatyar Chingus, SI Sukhvir Singh–(KNO)
